Hey, welcome back!
There might be some more information about this in the Windows Application Event Log. Would you be able to export that log and send it along? Also with it, if you can mention the approximate date/time(s) when you know the service had stopped like that, I can match that up in the log.
To access the Windows Application Event Log, got to Start->Run and type "eventvwr.exe" and hit enter. On the left, navigate to the Application log and then you should be able to right-click it and export it to file.
You can send the log over to the support(at)sdstechnologies.com address.
Thanks!
Scott

had a quick look at the event viewer and came across this one...

Hi utopian,
That error message is from a previous Server Manager crash, which I think randomly occurs when shutting down. Do you remember it happening that way? In any case, that one is fixed for the next release.
See any others?
How about "normal" Jamast service stop messages, do you see those when Jamcast stops?
I've seen reports of this before -- the Jamcast service stops normally for unknown reasons. It's confusing because Jamcast doesn't ever shut itself down like that, it would appear some other application would be doing so. But what application and why I wouldn't have any idea, it just doesn't make much sense and I never did figure it out.
How about antivirus software, if you shut it down for a while does the problem still occur?
Thanks,
Scott

Hmm, OK. Those are all errors related to startup, that means that something initiated the jamcast service process. This all went into the logfile before you started the service again, right?
And what happens right before this -- is there an info message that says "The service stopped successfully."?
Thanks!
Scott

Hmm, I'm really not sure here. It does sound like the process is being killed or crashing, that's the only way we could get this result (and crashing is less likely since we don't have any crash events in the event log).
Would you be able to export the entire log and email it to me? Some context might help me understand the situation.
Has this been going on since day 1? How old is this OS instance?
Thanks!
Scott
