UPDATE 05/02/2012
Due to licensing restrictions, we were unable to release our Spotify for Jamcast plugin. However, the project has been published to Microsoft's CodePlex open source repository under the new BSD license. Here's a link to the project:
http://spotifyforjamcast.codeplex.com/
Our sincerest apologies once again for not being able to release this plugin. Thanks so much for the interest!
Hey all,
We've got something VERY EXCITING in the works and need to see how it behaves on a variety of UPnP/DLNA devices. As always, this is a privilege we offer to our loyal paying customers first.
Requirements:
1) Paid Jamcast license
2) Spotify Premium account
3) a UPnP/DLNA compatible device (Xbox360, PS3, HDTV, Boxee, etc.)
Chances are, if you're already using the Virtual Soundcard to stream Spotify to some device around the house, you'll want to test this out.
If interested, please respond here and state the
make/model of UPnP/DLNA device(s)
you will be testing with.
Thanks!
Scott

Hi Mr. Slips,
Thanks for your interest!
A UPnP/DLNA device would be like a gaming console (Xbox360/PS3), a Boxee, Roku Soundridge, or any number of other network-connected devices that you might currently use Jamcast with.
How are you using Jamcast currently?
Thanks!
Scott

Hmm... my post disappeared.
Anyhow, Mr. Slips... your PS3 is the DLNA device, so you're all set. More details to come very soon, so check back here every day!
Thanks!

Everyone, thanks for your interest and your patience. We're in waiting mode right now. In the meantime, in case you were wondering, here's what you'll be testing:
(note: while demo is on PS3, this will work indeed on all existing compatible devices)
Hope everyone has a great weekend. When things move forward, you'll be the first to know.
Thanks!
Scott

Weak.
Yeah Mr. Slips, I thought the whole non-commercial restriction was going to be the big issue. When I found out that a commercial Terms of Service would be made available for libspotify, I was elated and thought it was safe to go ahead and start assembling a beta team. I had no idea we'd be denied otherwise...
This isn't over yet, there is simply way too much demand for this solution, and despite their position I believe Jamcast poses little threat to Spotify's licensors. I'm hopeful they will reconsider.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. Stay tuned...
Scott

Hmm a sad thing. I think the whole point is that they don't earn money by your good work... they rather go speak with Sony and make a enormous big deal with loads of money involved...
Because Spotify on PS3 could mean more sales on both sides I think...
