The New Jamcast API

Jamcast APIWe're excited to announce today the new Jamcast API! With the announcement comes some other goodies as well, including the first Jamcast plugins and some open source projects as well.

Quick Start

For those of you familiar with API's and eager to see what the Jamcast API has to offer, head on over to our new Developers / API section for documentation, sample projects, and more.

What's An API?

An API (application programming interface) is used by other developers to modify, interact with, or otherwise communicate with the application or service its associated with. In this case, the Jamcast API allows developers to quickly build plugins that add new content to Jamcast Server without having to know all of the intricacies of what makes Jamcast work internally.

First Jamcast Plugins

In order to get folks started using and building Jamcast plugins, we've created a few of our own. We'll in more detail on those later, but for now head on over to the Plugins page to download and try them out (Jamcast 1.8 required). Additionally, we've released the source code for all of these plugin projects so that developers can see exactly how they were created.
